Facebook - how it has influenced on Web

Facebook is perhaps the most powerful social network in the world, which in a few years has turned from a service for a small circle of friends into a global platform for communication. This word is now on the lips of every representative of the progressive young generation. Gradually, Facebook becomes an integral attribute of our lives. And not by chance.

Brief history of facebook

Facebook as a social networking site was founded on February 4, 2004. The founder of the service is Mark Zuckerberg, who installed the portal in the university dormitory. Up until September 2005, only students used the site. In June 2006, Facebook was opened to professional communities, and in September free registration was opened on the site. [3]

Why Facebook is so popular?

As a rule, any development simply does not make sense without active investment. In the process of creating “The Facebook”, he worked only on the enthusiasm of his fellow students. Thus, Peter Thiel, the founder of the PayPal payment system, soon became the first investor. Thanks to his investment (500 thousand dollars), Facebook has collected its first million visitors. In 2005, the domain name of the social network underwent minor changes: the prefix “the” disappeared and only the name “facebook” remained. Also, the huge popularity of Facebook was facilitated by a wave of more than 24 thousand programs from independent programmers working inside the site. [1]

Today, this popular social network is actively developing, introducing its own API, which allows you to connect various applications, such as calendars, flash games, informers and other add-ons.
