 Three Interesting examples of IT Solutions from Three Different Decades 1. IBM PC (1980s)  Today we can’t do without a personal computer (PC) for a day, but have you ever thought about the first mass computer for a user? The IBM PC 5150 is the first mass-produced personal computer manufactured by IBM, released in 1981. The IBM 5150 includes an Intel 8088 processor. The RAM could be up to 256 kilobytes. At the same time, the cheapest version of the computer had a memory capacity of only 16 kb, expandable up to 64 kb. [1]  The IBM PC could use either a monochrome MDA video adapter (text 80x25, character size 9x14), or a color CGA video adapter (text 80x25 or 40x25, character size 8x8, or graphics 320x200/4 colors or 640×200/2 colors).
